Spanish fans disappointed with defeat, Madrid

Spanish fans disappointed with defeat, Madrid

Quite surprised with the limited pouring of emotional disappointment by the crowd. The young lad which I include in the story tried very hard to hold his tears. Luckily the spirit of fun survived amongst some fans.

As for the photography, I'm surprised how I managed to nail the exposure in so many photos. The white balance was becoming a problem, but found that setting this to sun gave me the best results. It goes to show, heavy overcast but the setting was best for sunny conditions. Maybe, it is not called colour for nothing - what is being calculated is the actual heat of the scene and not what we see. ???

Itamar Shapira from Breaking the Silence Israel in Madrid

Itamar Shapira from Breaking the Silence Israel in Madrid

As a photojournalist I do not like to express my opinions on a story in public. This is one of those exceptions, maybe even the first, but after this meeting I confirmed my prejudices that what really oppresses the ordinary people are not guns or soldiers, nor ideology or politics, but the rather boring but universal disease, BUREAUCRACY.

World Naked Bike Ride Day in Madrid

http://www.demotix.com/news/354883/world-naked-day-madrid

Excuse the expression, but it was pissing down with rain. By the time the cyclists arrived at Cibeles, after removing their clothes in a side street,  it started raining like crazy. The metering was all over the place and the focusing was way out. Many photographers were complaining about the conditions. I simply set the camera on CH (high speed rate) and just aimed at moving cyclists and fired. In many images you can see the rain drops on the lens, for example the image on this post.
